Why Fashion Is Important
Fashion is about making a statement and experimenting with who you are that day.
It's about drawing seams on stockings in the war because the real thing was impossible to get hold of. It's about Vivienne Westwood and The Sex Pistols sticking two fingers up at Barbara Hulanicki and Twiggy's 60's, creating Punk. Teenage rebellion during the Thatcher years erupting on The Kings Road, completely defacing everything Carnaby Street stood for. It's about David Bowie, Grace Jones and Madonna leaving the world in awe, leaving people intrigued and scared of what they couldn't understand. METROSEXUALITY. The 90's let women wear suits, Versace was the golden, brazen outlandish yin to Calvin Klein's simple, clean, fresh yang. It's about GIRL POWER and embracing who you are.
Fashion defines your personality. It defines mood's and status. From Primark to Prada. BE YOURSELF AND SHINE. The whole world is a runway.
